Under clinical supervision by Robyn Gobbel, LCSW
I am a Licence Master of Social Work over half way done working towards obtaining a higher liscensure of LCSW. I am doing private practice work at Austin Family Counseling off Bee Caves in Austin working with ages 4 and up, along with parents.
I have many years experience working with children and their families in high crisis and acute setting. I have pre- grad and post-grad experience working with children in inpatient psychiatric hospitals. With illness and symptoms such as self harm, suicidal ideation, disruptive behaviors, aggression, tantrums, low self-esteem, attachment difficulties, and poor impulse control. In the agencies I have worked I gained experience and knowledge around CPS, foster, and adoption systems. I have had training around the neurobiological impacts of stressful events on the developing mind and ways to activate various parts of the brain stem to nourish new growth and healing.
I have a very relational style and incorporate sensory regulation, body movement, art, play therapy, attachment, and skill building into my work with kiddos. I love to work with eager parents who are looking for support, help exploring new ideas and ways of interacting with their children, or just need help tweaking the skills they already know to increase effectiveness.
I have the privileged of being supervised by Robyn Gobbel, LCSW who I call a "trauma and attachment guru in Austin". She is widely known through the foster and adoption community here in Austin and is a wealth of support an knowledge in my continuing education
When I am not working I enjoy doing anything crafty or with animals. My current crafts have been spinning yarn and simple 3-d paper crafting. I am avid about increasing my knowledge around growing, foraging, and using plants. As well as a quirky animal lady. I have cats, ducks, and chickens (regular, bantam, and large breed). I passionately believe in the therapeutic power of animals and hope to have therapy animals in the future.
